Unique Student Identifier
From 1 January 2015, all students doing nationally recognized training need to have a Unique
Student Identifier (USI).
A USI is a reference number made up of numbers and letters. Creating a USI is free. It
creates a secure online record of your nationally recognized training that you can access
anytime and anywhere, and it’s yours for life.
In order to receive a Statement of Attainment when completing your course you will need give us a
copy your USI number. To obtain this USI if you don’t already have one please follow the link
below: http://www.usi.gov.au/
For students (parents, guardians or carers) to create a USI
Please make sure you have one form of ID from the list below ready-
Examples of acceptable forms of ID:
- Driver’s Licence
- Medicare Card
- Australian Passport
- Visa (with Non-Australian Passport) for international students
- Birth Certificate (Australian) *please note a Birth Certificate extract is not sufficient
- Certificate Of Registration By Descent
- Citizenship Certificate
- ImmiCard
